Top Celebrity Photographers
Ron Galella
His photos are legendary as he has photographed the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Michael Jackson, Sophia Loren, and Marlon Brandon. He essentially created what we know of modern-day paparazzi photography. There are stories where he would hop into taxis and try and chase celebrities in hopes of capturing even one great shot.
Rino Barillari
An Italian photographer referred to as “King of the Paparazzi”. He received the “Order of Merit” in 1998 from the Italian Republic. He photographed big Hollywood, even directors like Oliver Stone!
Darryn Lyons
Lyons is bigger than life and operates as more than just a photographer. Known for his personality, he was a successful paparazzi in the United Kingdom and Australia. Darryn was even elected the Mayor of Geelong from 2013-2016. He is infamous, as well as famous, as he was present on Princess Diana’s night of death and gave the police the images he took, which Darryn has said he will never publish.
Tazio Secchiaroli
An Italian photographer who is considered one of the “original” paparazzi. Tazio has recently retired from the stalker-esque forms of paparazzi work that is so popular today. His most famous images are candid photography, both planned and impromptu. Even making the big screen as the film, “La Dolce Vita” has a character based on him.
Giles Harrison
Harrison’s methods of photographing celebrities have been the subject of articles, like this one found in VOA. Harrison equates his career to that of being a reporter and living an exciting life. He doesn’t sit around waiting outside celebrities’ homes; instead, he drives about trying to find perfect photos!
