Save Money with Our 5 Low Budget Photography Tips
Photography is about artistry. The photographs you shoot and produce rely on the ‘eye’ you have, location, subject, the skill of the photographer and also the camera and equipment involved. While expensive stuff doesn’t automatically make a photograph good (let alone great), cheap equipment doesn’t necessarily doom your images either. If you want a fabulous end product on the cheap, follow our PHOTOGRAPHY ON A BUDGET guide!

Read About the Equipment You Already Own
No matter what camera you own, if you haven’t read about it, in detail, you’re missing out. This is also true for the other equipment you use in photoshoots. Read about your equipment and then research it online.
Look for others who use the same equipment (you can search #hashtags on Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and see what their images have been capable of. If you find a photographer (or photograph) you like, search for more of their work through Berify.
Natural Lighting: If you don’t own, want to buy, or know how to use expensive lighting equipment, make use of natural lighting. Shoot at photograph-friendly times. A few hours after sunrise and several hours before sunset, are usually considered the best ‘golden hours’ for shoots!
Buy Used: Used equipment can save you dollars to hundreds or thousands of dollars! The moment something is purchased its value usually starts decreasing. Whenever a manufacturer releases a new/ upgraded model of an electronic or camera, etc., the prior models go down in price. To be safe, don’t order anything online without insurance being paid for on the item/ included. If you purchase through Craigslist, stay safe by reviewing our blog on avoiding Craigslist scams!
Gorgeous Subject/ Location: Even with great equipment, you can take so-so photos in a pleasant location. However, even with standard or limited equipment, if you take pictures in a stunning environment or with an enigmatic model, they will likely be much more attractive. This is where genuine talent and artistry set in. Follow your photography bliss and try outdoor or street photography!
Free Classes: Camera stores and photographers often hold free or low-cost photography classes. Take one or consider signing up for an affordable photography class at a local community college or (ROP) Regional Occupational Program.
Shoot More: Take more photographs. The more you take, the better the luck that you will have an excellent selection to choose from.
